The Perch is not only a Pub/Brewery, but home to a collection of over 50 brightly-colored tropical rescue birds! Their website explains that each year thousands of pet birds are abused, neglected, and abandoned. Many people purchase a bird because they want a unique pet, but fail to research what it takes to provide these amazing creatures the necessary care they need ot thrive in captivity.
They dedicate their time and energy to helping to rebuild trusting relationships with unwanted, abandoned, abused, and neglected pet birds and give them a loving forever home. They don’t breed, buy, or sell the rescue birds. Their goal is to provide a second chance and lots of love for these gorgeous birds!
The food was great! Good selection, too! I had a great Turkey Melt/Club Sandwich combo that was waaaay to much to finish in one meal!
We sat right in front of the large cage so had lots of interaction with the birds! They danced, talked and yes… screamed!!
The cages were really clean and the birds really well kept! I had a chance to talk with the manager and she told me that, unfortunately, they have had people complaining they were mistreated because some of them are feather-pickers! People that don’t know birds have no idea that no matter how well a bird can be taken care of they can still pick! And most of these have come from terrible situations. I thought the birds looked great!
