Since the weather is so stifling hot here right now, Donna and I decided to do a day trip to Mt. Lemmon as the temperatures are about 30-degrees cooler there! Mt. Lemmon is about an hour away from Tucson located in the Santa Catalina Range surrounded by the Coronado National Forest. Summerhaven is a quaint little town where you can rent cute tiny cabins, buy homemade fudge and ice cream, relax with a cup of coffee while nestled in the pines! The road up to Summerhaven winds up the sides of the mountain to an altitude of over 9000 feet and the overlooks give great views of the snaking road and hoodoos.
We did some hiking and then took the chair lift to the top of Mt. Lemmon. The views were awesome and the weather was perfect!
